Hellas Verona F.C. vs Salernitana lineups
Salernitana was stumbling closer to the drop zone and endured another miserable run of form in their last outing. The visitors lost to Juventus and suffered their sixth defeat in eight Serie A matches.
Hellas Verona took the lead thanks to a left-footed shot from Cyril Ngonge. The goal shook the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.
Darko Lazovic
Darko Lazovic (Serbian Cyrillic: arко аови; born 15 September 1990) is a Serbian professional football player who plays for Hellas Verona. He plays as a winger for the club in the Serie A.
Lazovic has one shot on goal and 11 crosses this season. He could be a key weapon for the Gialloblu as they fight to avoid relegation from Serie A.
The visitors need the services of Miguel Veloso, Thomas Henry and Ajdin Hrustic due to injuries. Some players are also a booking away from suspension, including Nicolo Casale and Adam Marusic. They also need defenders Norbert Gyomber and Tanguy Ndombele. However, they have a few players in contention to play, including Nicola Depaoli and Kevin Lasagna. They could both feature in the starting lineup.
Ngonge
Winter arrival Ngonge scored one goal on five shots (two on target), created one chance, and delivered one accurate cross in Monday’s 1-0 win over Salernitana. It was his first Serie A start since the end of January, and his strong showing could earn him a regular starting role soon.
He played just eight minutes versus Spezia because of an apparent ankle injury, but Ngonge avoided severe ligament damage and should return soon. He’ll likely be replaced by either Yayah Kallon or Jayden Braaf.
Ngong has appeared in nine Serie A matches this season, including two starts and four appearances off the bench. The 22-year-old has one goal and two assists on the season. His contract expires in June 2023. He has one year and EUR 320,000 gross remaining on his current deal. He has a good relationship with the coaching staff and can play in any attacking position.

Lasagna
Ahead of their first meeting with the Neapolitans since returning to Serie A, Verona fans will be hoping for a big win to help them climb back up the table. After a slow start, they are only four points adrift of 17th-placed Spezia and could reclaim their spot in the top half.
The Gialloblu will have to do without the services of their star striker Victor Osimhen, who is out injured. However, Luciano Spalletti will look to his fringe players, including Koray Gunter and Mattia Zaccagni, to step up and fill the void.
In the centre of the park, Darko Lazovic will be one of the main threats for the visitors. The former Benevento man can unlock defences with his penetrative through balls. He is critical in their attacking gameplay and will be crucial against the Juventus defence.
Depaoli
The home side will look to get back on track after their Europa League heartbreak against RB Salzburg. They must secure a big win against the relegation-threatened team at the Stadio Armando Maradona to keep their slim hopes of a top-four finish alive.
They have a poor record against the Nerazzurri, conceding 12 goals in their last three meetings. The visitors will be keen to defend their destination well and only look to open up a little.
The visitors are without striker Lautaro Martinez, who has been out injured since late February. He is a crucial player for the Salernitana, and his absence will be felt in this game. His lack will give more chances to Luca Toni and William Troost-Ekong. Those players have been performing well for the club recently, and they can help the hosts to win.
Duda
The Gialloblu are two points above the relegation zone after a morale-boosting 1-0 victory over Salernitana in their previous home fixture. Winter arrival Cyril Ngonge starred with the only goal against the relegation rivals, and he’s a likely starter again on Friday.
Erik Botheim could also be a starter, as the Danish midfielder provided an assist against Salernitana. In the match, Norbert Gyomber limped off with a right thigh injury, and Flavius Daniliuc might replace him as centre-back.
Salernitana was declared bankrupt in 2005 but was reformed by Antonio Lombardi. The club are nicknamed Granata (garnets) in Italy after the garnet-coloured shirts worn by the team since the 1940s. The club changed its name to US Salernitana Calcio 1919 in 2012. Salernitana has spent most of its history in Serie B and Serie C, except for a single Serie A campaign in 1998/99.
Tameze
After a morale-boosting 1-0 victory over relegation rivals Salernitana, Hellas Verona travel to Bologna hoping to end their run of one-point league wins. Winter arrival Cyril Ngonge is likely to retain his place for the visitors at the Bentegodi, but long-term absentee Thomas Henry could be left out.
Giangiacomo Magnani and Miguel Veloso are both expected back for Zaffaroni after being suspended against Napoli last Saturday. Ajdin Hrustic and Deyovaisio Zeefuik are likely to miss out, however.
Bologna is without a win in their last four away Serie A games, but they did hold inconsistent AC Milan to a 1-1 draw at the San Siro. Paulo Dybala had a muscular injury at the weekend, while Leonardo Bonucci still has a thigh problem. Samir Handanovic is also doubtful, with the defender suffering from a calf injury.
Doig
Salernitana will be looking to avoid a fourth straight loss on the road. The Granata are expected to field a primarily unchanged squad, including Montipo, Hien, Dawidowicz and Tameze.
Guillermo Ochoa – Concedes three goals.
Ochoa recorded what is likely to be his worst log of the season in Wednesday’s 3-3 draw against Fiorentina. He saved only two shots and didn’t win any corners.
Erik Botheim – Records assist
Boeheim assisted once in his last two starts, including the draw with Fiorentina. His record bodes well for him to continue as a starter Monday.
Salernitana wore light blue and white stripes in their early years, a colour scheme that gave them the nickname “biancocelesti” (“little alerts”). In 2021, they were transferred to garnet-coloured shirts and renamed US Salernitana Calcio in 1919.
Magnani
With Victor Osimhen out, Luciano Spalletti will be looking for an attacker to step up and take up the mantle. Eljif Elmas and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have tried to fill the void, but they have yet to score much without the Nigerian.
Magnani is a good option, and the club captain has a solid record against Napoli. His stoppage-time winner against Sassuolo could earn him a start against the league leaders.
Marco Zaffaroni will likely stick with a back three but will want an attacking midfielder to play behind them. That could see him pick up either Cyril Ngonge or Simone Verdi. Pawel Dawidowicz and Tameze are other options. Giacomo Raspadori may be rested to keep him fresh for the Milan game. Hirving Lozano is another option to lead the line. He could get the nod ahead of Matteo Politano.
Dawidowicz
Despite their recent struggles, the Archers still have a shot at making the top half. They trail 17th-placed Spezia by just two points going into this match, and Zaffaroni’s team has shown plenty of fight in their last four top-flight games.
Dawidowicz will likely play a more prominent role in this game, as the young defender is starting to find his way into the lineup. He won six duels and three of five tackles against Juventus, and he can unlock defences with his penetrative through balls. Koray Gunter and Hien will join him in the centre of defence. He will hope to build upon his strong showing against the reigning champions.
Hien
The club has struggled recently and needs a win against Hellas Verona to stay in the top flight. Marco Zaffaroni’s side is currently just above the relegation zone and will be looking to avoid a defeat on Tuesday.
The team is playable in FIFA 23, and Ivan Ilic has the highest Overall rating of the entire squad. Here is a look at the full roster with their corresponding ratings and potential in the game.
Hien is a versatile player who can play anywhere on the front line. He is capable of scoring goals and creating chances for the team. He is also a key defensive player who can help his team prevent bad results. He will be vital for the team’s success in Serie A. He has scored three goals this season and will be important for the team’s offense.
