Disney Memorial Day Soccer Tournament
Clearwater U-15 Elite Girls were Disney Memorial Champions this weekend in Auburndale. They played in the Gold Division and won 2 out of 3 games in pool play and then beat Wellington in the semis 4-2 and competed in the finals against Boca Gold. They did a great job!
Youth sports continue to be at the forefront of the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex experience, with safety as a top priority for athletes, coaches and fans.
Clearwater U-15 Elite Girls
Clearwater U-15 Elite girls competed in the Gold division at the Disney Memorial Day Soccer Tournament this weekend. They won 2 out of 3 games in pool play to take first place in their bracket. They beat Wellington in the semifinals and then lost to Boca in a hard-fought game that went to PK’s. This is a very exciting group of players and a great achievement for the team.
The girls have been working hard all year, and it paid off. They have a great group of coaches that are dedicated to the development of their players. They also have a great group of parents that support the team and help with fundraising.
They are very excited about the upcoming season and look forward to competing against some of the best teams in Florida. They are working very hard this off-season to be ready to compete at the highest level possible. They are also planning to attend several college showcases this spring.
In the past, they have participated in many of the top boys’ and girls youth soccer tournaments across the country. They have been to the national championships, won numerous state titles and even participated in the Disney Showcase. They have received several offers to play at the next level.
The 2021-2022 Disney youth soccer season includes the launch of the new Disney Cup Soccer Series, a collection of three tournaments where teams earn points based on their performance and the top four in each age division advance to a single-elimination round. The winner of each tournament will receive a championship trophy and medals.

The 2021-2022 Disney youth soccer season kicked off this year with the return of a number of tournaments to the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex, including the coveted Disney boys and girls soccer showcase events. With safety at the forefront of planning, these three tournaments provide a perfect way for teams to get back into competitive action and enjoy the magic of Disney.
Twenty-four Clearwater Academy International players and coaches travelled to Auburndale, Florida, this weekend for the Disney Memorial Day Tournament. The team competed in the Gold division. They won two of their games in pool play to advance into the Semifinals, where they beat Wellington SC 4-2 before losing to CES Breakers in a very close game that ended in PKs. Coaches Erin Morse and Jason Kaylor are extremely proud of this team for finishing the season as Disney Memorial Champions!!
Talent wins games, but teamwork wins championships is a quote that a team of young athletes in Terrebonne Parish have lived by since they formed their Lady Wolf Pack youth recreational team at the age of nine. The team is composed of 12 girls ages 9-10 from Houma-Terrebonne Soccer Association who have spent the past half-decade focused on improving their skills through training, participating in programs at Nicholls State University and attending soccer camps. The hard work has paid off, as the Lady Wolf Pack were crowned champions of the 2022 Disney Memorial Day Soccer Tournament.
This tournament is a great opportunity for local high school and college coaches to see their future players in action. The field is located in a beautiful park with some of the best natural grass fields in the country. Teams are guaranteed to play 4-6 games over the course of the tournament.

Clearwater U-11 Girls
The 2022 Disney Memorial Day Soccer Tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is one of the most popular youth soccer tournaments in America. The event attracts teams from all over the country and offers competitive matches at top-notch facilities. Additionally, it provides the opportunity for players to experience Walt Disney World Resort while playing. The tournament features 11 brackets ranging from U9 to U20 in boys and girls divisions.
The tournament was held over the weekend and was well-attended by several teams from around the state. The weather was perfect for a soccer tournament, and many of the participants enjoyed their stay in Florida. Several Clearwater soccer teams took part in the competition, including the U-11 and U-12 girls. The U-11s went undefeated in their pool play games and lost a hard-fought game to Wellington SC in the finals. The team is proud of their accomplishment and is looking forward to the next tournament.
This year’s tournament was the last for the girls as a recreational team. However, they will continue to compete on the Lady Hawks competitive travel team. They have a large amount of talent on this squad and are excited to continue their journey together. “We’re extremely proud of this group,” said coach Traci Guy.
The annual Disney Soccer Showcase events feature many of the nation’s most highly-ranked youth players in America and are consistently among the leading recruiting events in the country. These events are a great way for young players to showcase their skills and abilities on the national stage. The event is also a great way for parents to see the talent in their children and determine whether they are ready to take the next step in their development. The showcase is held annually over the Memorial Day weekend and features 11 age groups ranging from U9 to U20 in both boys and girls.

In addition to the competition, participants and their families will get to experience all the fun and excitement of Walt Disney World.

The girls went undefeated in pool play and beat Wellington 3-2 to advance to the semifinals. This was the girl’s last tournament together before breaking up at the end of the year. The girls had a great time and came home with some amazing memories! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported these ladies. We couldn’t have done it without you!
The girls are now Region C champs and are preparing for the President’s Cup. They have worked so hard, and we are very proud of them! We wish them luck at the Disney tournament.
